“Jansky” is an audio drama concerning the figure of Karl Guthe Jansky, an American physicist who almost unconsciously became a pioneer in radio astronomy. The work describes Jansky’s early discoveries in the field of radio engineering, which led him to hear what he acknowledged as the sound emitted by our galaxy, the Milky Way. The audio drama is based on a reading of the book “L’universo violento della radioastronomia” by Italian astrophysicist Margherita Hack, with the insertion of sounds sourced from the archives of Italian astrophysical observatories.
